International Conference on Business Information Systems (BIS)


The event of the biggest impact is the internationally recognized Conference on Business Information Systems chaired by Witold Abramowicz since 1997. It is the largest conference on the topic of information systems in Central-East Europe.


Up to now, there have been 15 BIS conferences, each gathering international researchers for discussions on the development, implementation, application and improvement of business applications and systems. The conferences have been addressed to the scientific community, people involved in the development of business applications, consultants helping to properly implement information technology and those who are dealing with the IT applications in the industry. The BIS Conference represents high standard (usually the acceptance rate is far below 40% of submissions) and the conference participants come from various research centers all over the world. Conference proceeding were published in 16 books inter alia in Lecture Notes in Computer Science – Springer, Lecture Notes in Informatics GI.
