An article authored by our scientists on streamlining business data analysis and visualization processes using generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) has been published on the Springer website.
The growing complexity of data and the increasing pressure to make faster decisions are driving more and more organizations to adopt AI-powered tools. One example of this trend is the LumiViz application, designed to streamline business data analysis and visualization processes.
Traditional Business Intelligence tools often require users to have at least a basic understanding of query languages (e.g., SQL) and the ability to navigate complex analytical interfaces. LumiViz allows users to formulate commands in natural language and then generates visualizations or evaluates graphic reports created by the user. The application supports not only data experts but also those with less experience, enabling them to build simple reports more quickly and receive immediate feedback. A key component of the system is the Knowledge Graph, which enhances query interpretation by incorporating business context, company-specific terminology, and relevant metrics — resulting in more accurate and meaningful responses.
The paper entitled “LumiViz: Automating Business Data Visualization with Generative AI” was presented at the BIS 2025 conference. Authors of the publication: Dr. Szczepan Górtowski, Dr. Elżbieta Lewańska.
