On 15 April 2015 at the Westin Hotel in Warsaw the Grand Gala BIG DATA: THINK BIG CEE CONGRESS took place. The the competition individuals, who have significantly contributed to the development of technology related to Big Data in Poland, have been awarded. The awards were given in several categories for achievements in 2014.
Department of Information Systems is the winner of the award in two categories.
SmartBRAIN (Smart and Big Data Science Research and Innovation Center), Department of Information Systems was awarded as the Innovation Poland 2014, for conducting international and national projects in the field of energy, telecommunication, defense, social network analysis with the use of Big Data technology and in-memory computing, being an effective innovator that transfers the results to Polish economy.
Professor Witold Abramowicz was awarded as the Man of the Year Big Data, for his abilities in building international consortia, realization of international research projects as well as implementation of the results in Polish economy.
