During the ceremonial Inauguration of the Academic Year 2024/2025, a lecture titled “Generative Curiosity” will take place. The lecture will be delivered by Prof. Marek Kowalkiewicz, one of the leading experts in the field of the digital economy. He completed his master’s studies and defended his doctoral dissertation with distinction at the Poznań University of Economics and Business, where he also worked in the Department of Information Systems. The event will take place on October 11 (Friday) at 11:00 AM in the Auditorium of the Poznań University of Economics and Business (al. Niepodległości 10).
After the inspiring inaugural lecture, we invite all those interested in further discussions to a special meeting with Prof. Marek Kowalkiewicz — the Intellectual Afterparty on October 11 at 2:30 PM, Auditorium A, Building D (ul. Towarowa 55).
This meeting will be an opportunity to converse and ask questions to Prof. Kowalkiewicz. It will also allow current and future business partners to preliminarily explore possibilities of cooperation with our University in areas related to, among others, artificial intelligence and digital transformation. The intellectual afterparty inaugurates seminars dedicated to artificial intelligence and digital transformation in enterprises, business environment institutions, and scientific sector entities, which will be systematically conducted by the newly established UEP Center for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation.
Prof. Marek Kowalkiewicz currently serves as the Head of the Department of Digital Economy at the Business School of Queensland University of Technology (Australia) and is the founder and director of the QUT Centre for the Digital Economy. He is a figure who combines science with economic practice at the highest level. His rich career includes, among others, working in research and managerial positions at SAP Research in Australia, Singapore, and the USA. Prof. Kowalkiewicz led research teams, created innovative solutions such as the first SAP application in the AppStore (AUS Traffic), and promoted SAP technologies in the Asia-Pacific region.
