The twenty-fifth edition of the International Conference on Business Information Systems (BIS 2025) took place on June 25–27 at the Poznań University of Economics and Business. In light of the significance of artificial intelligence and digital transformation for business, as well as their rapid development, the conference theme was defined as “AI-driven business transformation: challenges and opportunities”.
As part of the inauguration session, participants had the opportunity to listen to a keynote lecture by Prof. Gerard de Melo from the Hasso Plattner Institute and the University of Potsdam, where he holds the Chair of Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems and leads the associated research group. He is the author of over 200 publications in the field of artificial intelligence, with particular emphasis on language models, computer vision, and knowledge graphs. His inspiring lecture entitled “Confidently Wrong, Yet Effective: Techniques for Deploying Imperfect AI” provided participants with valuable insights into practical methods for implementing imperfect yet effective AI-based systems.
