During the Didactic Conference at the Poznań University of Economics and Business, employees of the Department of Information Systems presented research results on the possibilities and limitations of generating texts using tools based on generative artificial intelligence, analyzing both the advantages and potential threats. The research was conducted based on the analysis of texts generated by ChatGPT as part of student essays.
During the international conference KES 2023 (27th International Conference on Knowledge-Based and Intelligent Information & Engineering Systems), research results on the use of scientific information sources in multilingual Wikipedia on various topics were presented. This year’s edition of the KES conference was organized in Athens (Greece) on September 6-8 in a hybrid mode.
On May 11, the tenth edition of the scientific forum for people studying various aspects of Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects – Wiki Workshop 2023 took place. As part of this event, the results of scientific research in the area of analysis of global interest in American topics in the multilingual Wikipedia were presented.
On April 18-19, the First Poznań Conference “Bibliometric analyses of Open Science” was held. During this event, Dr. Włodzimierz Lewoniewski presented results of the research on scientific publications and other important sources of information in Wikipedia articles in different languages.
During the 9th of the National Scientific Conference “Knowledge and information technologies in creating entrepreneurship” (WiTIwKP), representatives of our Department presented the SocialScan tool supporting the verification of credibility of information on social networks. This year’s edition of the conference was held on October 6-7 in a hybrid mode (stationary in Olsztyn near Częstochowa and remotely).
During the eleventh edition of the Professor Zbigniew Czerwiński National Scientific Conference “Mathematics and IT at the services of economics” (MIUE 2022), a lecture entitled “Can social media defend against fake news?” was delivered. The presentation cointained department’s research on the detection of fake news using artificial intelligence methods. This year’s edition of the MIUE conference was held on September 16 remotely.

This year’s edition of the KES conference was organized in Verona (Italy) in a hybrid mode.
During the FedCSIS 2022 conference (17th Conference on Computer Science and Intelligence Systems), the results of scientific research of our team on the reliability assessment of the information sources about companies in different languages of Wikipedia were presented. This year’s edition of the FedCSIS conference was organized in Sofia (Bulgaria) in a hybrid mode.
Members of our department Prof. Witold Abramowicz and Dr. Milena Stróżyna participated in the European Defense Innovation Day in Brussels. At the invitation of the European Defense Agency (EDA), DIS representatives prepared a stand where the results of the SIMMO II research project were presented.
