On March 14, 2018, during the celebration of the International Pi Day for students of the Karol Marcinkowski High School No. 1 in Poznań, Włodzimierz Lewoniewski gave an open lecture on automatic assessment of information quality in multilingual Wikipedia.
During the lecture, the history of Wikipedia development, the most important principles and problems of this popular encyclopedia were presented. Pupils learned how to self-assess the quality of information contained in this global knowledge base. Additionally, DBpedia as the semantic version of Wikipedia was introduced.
In the second part of the lecture Włodzimierz Lewoniewski talked about scientific research related to the measures and methods of assessing the quality of information in Wikipedia. He also presents tools that can automatically assess the quality and select the best language versions from over 30 million articles of this encyclopedia.
