Summer School Service Science and Research Methods 2011

Szczecin, Monday, 19th of September – Friday, 23th of September.

Summer School Service Science, organised by the Wroclaw University of Economics, Poznan University of Economics and University of Leipzig, will take place at University of Szczecin, Poland.

First programme draft

  • Monday, September 19th: Research Methods in IS, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Frank
  • Tuesday, September 20th: Introduction to Service Science, Prof. Dr. Rainer Alt and Prof. Dr. Bogdan Franczyk
  • Wednesday, September 21st: Participation on ISSS 2011 (International Symposium on Service Science, isss2011.uni-leipzig.de) (Exercises!)
  • Thursday, September 22nd: Service Engineering, Prof. Dr. Klaus Peter Fähnrich
  • Friday, September, 23rd: SOA and Service-oriented Software Systems, Prof. Dr. Witold Abramowicz and Prof. Dr. Leszek Maciaszek

The summer school is part of the FedCSIS 2011 (FEDERATED CONFERENCE ON COMPUTER SCIENCE AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS, www.fedcsis.org) and the ISSS 2011 (International Symposium on Service Science, isss2011.uni-leipzig.de).

Social Programme

Besides the work during the courses, the following events are planned:

  • A historical guided tour including a visit at the tower of the cathedral
  • A tour at a fallout shelter from the Cold War
  • An excursion to a park in the suburbs including a barbecue
  • Go-kart driving (inside or outside depending on the weather)
  • A Pub-/Club-Evening
  • A Weekend trip to the Baltic coast (including the option to participate on the SMI conference)

Further details and registration

  • The price for each participant will be 150 €.
  • We will spend the night in the student dormitories of the university.
  • After passing the final exam you will get an official certificate and 4 ECTS.
