The fourth edition of the scientific workshop QOD (Quality of Open Data) was conducted on June 14, 2021 in conjunction with the BIS 2021 conference. The event was hosted by TIB – Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology and University Library in Hanover, Germany.
On December 2-3, 2020 as part of the 2nd edition of the PUEB Entrepreneurship Days, members of the Department of Information Systems, MSc. Piotr Kałużny and Dr. Włodzimierz Lewoniewski, gave lectures on contemporary challenges of innovative economy, the possibility of using open data and Data Science in the development of entrepreneurship.
The goal of the QOD workshop is to bring together different communities working on quality in Wikipedia, DBpedia, Wikidata, OpenStreetMap, Wikimapia and other open knowledge bases and data sources. The workshop calls for sharing research experience and knowledge related to quality assessment in open data. On 12 May 2020 the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences of the University of Potsdam awarded the degree of doctor habilitated in economic informatics to Krzysztof Węcel, employed in the Department of Information Systems at the Institute of Informatics and Quantitative Economics. On 20 July 2018 the first workshop on Quality of Open Data (QOD 2018) was organized. It took place during the 21st edition of the Business Information Systems Conference (BIS 2018) at the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems FOKUS in Berlin.
